Kamala Harris

 Kamala Devi Harris was born on October 20 1964. She is an American politician. Kamala Devi Harris is the first female elected vice president and she is also the most powerful female officer in American history. A member of the Democratic Party, she has been the attorney general of California from 2011 until 2017, and as an United States senator representing California until 2021. Harris was born in Oakland, California. She graduated from Howard University as well as the University of California Hastings College of the Law. After starting her career as an Alameda County District Attorney Harris was recruited to San Francisco District Attorney's Office. Later she became the City Attorney of San Francisco. In 2003, she was elected district attorney of San Francisco. Harris was elected Attorney General of California in the year 2010. In 2014, she won re-election. Harris served as the junior United States senator from California from 2017 to 2021. Harris beat Loretta Martinez in 2016's Senate election to become the 2nd African American woman and first South Asian American senator to be elected to the United States Senate. Harris was a senator who worked for healthcare reform and federal de-scheduling cannabis. A path to citizenship for immigrants who are not legally recognized. The DREAM Act bans assault weapons and progressive tax reform. The sharp questions she asked Trump officials during Senate hearings has garnered her national attention, including the second Supreme Court nominee, Brett Kavanaugh who was indicted with sexual assault.
